Girls Varsity Cross Country · 2019 Girls Cross Country Preview

The Highlander Girls Cross Country team enters the 2019 season as the defending Region Champions, a familiar position for the program with 5 titles in the last 8 years.  After a 2018 fall campaign that saw the Highlanders claim eight top-10 finishes in nine meets, and five individual titles, an experienced group will take the course looking to improve upon their top-5 finish as the SCISA State Championship.

Replacing state runner of the year Jais Ward will prove a tall task for veteran Coach Willis Ware, but three All-Region runners return including Laela Caplinger, Catherine Barron, and Cameron Truesdale.  The Highlanders will host the Highlander Invitational in October, and the State Meet in November, with nine total meets this fall.

The Highlanders will open the 2019 season at Hammond on August 24th in the Skyhawk Invitational at 8AM.
